A 20-minute intro call so we can understand the work and decide if we're the right shop for it. If we are, we scope a short discovery week - paid, flat fee - that ends with a written plan, timeline, and price for the build. You own the plan whether you hire us or not.
Both, depending on risk. Well-scoped features go on fixed price so you know what you're buying. Open-ended work - rescue, discovery, anything with unknowns - runs on weekly team rate with a cap we agree on up front.
We don't run a bench of juniors behind a staff-aug front. Team size is 1–4 people per engagement - enough to ship fast, small enough that everyone holds the whole system in their head.
Yours, in the overwhelming majority of cases. We'll push back if the stack is actively harming the goal - but leaving you with a codebase your team can maintain always wins over our preferences.
Usually 2–3 weeks from signed SOW, occasionally sooner. We hold the discovery week for new clients inside that window so the ramp isn't dead time.
You get the repo, the infra, the runbooks, and a two-week warranty against regressions. If you want us on retainer for follow-on work or advisory, we offer a lightweight month-to-month that most clients keep for about a year.
Yes - we sign mutual NDAs before the intro call on request, and we'll work from your MSA when you have one. If you don't, ours is two pages and clients' counsel usually returns it unchanged.
